I work in Tech support for a small office within a large University. The University recently switched from the Windows Live web app to Office 365, in preparation for the removal of Windows Live. In our office, we use Trillian IM (with our University-issued Windows Live accounts) for inter-office communications; and those accounts, although utilized through Trillian, were managed within the Windows Live web app. One-by-one, my users' Trillian IMs are losing their connections with Windows Live. That is to be expected, however, my question is: if I have my users switch to Skype for instant messaging, will all of their previous Windows Live account information (mainly their list of contacts) still disappear as soon as the server is taken offline?

however, my question is: if I have my users switch to Skype for instant messaging, will all of their previous Windows Live account information (mainly their list of contacts) still disappear as soon as the server is taken offline?
