I am using window Live mail .I am facing following problems:
1.It starts updating every now and then.Sometimes the updation goes on and on.While updation is going on the windows mail can not be used.
2.I am unable to view many messages off line (including sent messages)
3.Can I configure the mail account with POP server insteadof IMAP server

How do I get my mail to sync again? I have signed myself out of Outlook.com and shut down/rebooted, checked the Accounts section etc, but can't find anything, please help?

Thanks,

Sophie

I am in the process of changing my provider, so will lose my O2 addresses.  So that I can change providers more easily in the future I signed up for a couple of outlook.com & gmail addresses only to find I can't use them with Windows Mail (Vista).  Having used WM for several years I have my Contacts & folders set up to suit my way of working.  Have imported contacts list into Outlook but can't get on with it.  Evidently it is not possible to install Windows Live Mail as it is no longer supported for Vista.   Is there any other option that works like WM?
So I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone, but I've had Windows Mail and Movie Maker installed on my computer (Windows 7) and I uninstalled Mail because I got Outlook. I did this using REVO uninstaller (which removes all files leftover) but I must have turned my computer off during the process or something stopped it working fully. The outcome is that Mail as a program on the taskbar is still there but I can't use it because of a missing WLDCore.dll and Movie Maker for some reason has disappeared. So I thought to uninstall it again, but it's not there. I then went to install it again and so I selected the 'Choose the programs I want to install' option but it said Mail and Movie Maker is already installed. I've looked everywhere on my computer for the files and can't find anything. I decided to download Windows Live Messenger so I could uninstall it and hopefully kill-off some of the leftover files of the other programs, but after clicking on it, it says missing wldlog.dll and it's the same story as the Windows Live Mail (even though I've just installed it).

Basically my goal is to have Movie Maker and Mail working. Also, I've had SkyDrive working the whole time during this which is also odd.

Comments and advice would be much appreciated, cheers.
I could see how to export the mail folders but do not see how to do the import.

Hi,

Since the 15/9/13 I have not been able to receive emails on either Outlook or windows mail from my ISP (2 different POP accounts).

Outlook works fine for sending mail and receiving mail to my outlook.com email address.

Checked with my ISP and there is no problem with their end.

I can receive emails to these accounts on my ISP site and on other devices I-pad and phone but not on my laptop.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Microsoft's getting started email reads as below.               BUT WHICH ADD-ON and HOW DO I FIND IT . PLEASE HELP!!!

If you've been using Outlook Express, Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail, you can easily upload your emails and address book to Outlook.com. Once you've uploaded them, you can manage them along with your emails and contacts on Outlook and People web service.

It's easy to get your emails on the cloud. Here are the steps:
  1. Install the add-on. It'll check your email accounts on this PC.
  2. Choose the email account. The add-on will give you a list of accounts on this PC that you can upload emails and contacts from.
  3. Upload your emails and contacts. The add-on will upload your emails and contacts to the cloud.
How do I transfer my old email messages from Windows Mail to my new computer with Windows 8 and Outlook account. Messages are in a FOL file.
