try to update the driver for your video card if Movie Maker still doesn't start." I have a Dell Inspiron N4110 that runs Windows 7. I have done any and all updates to no avail. The older version that was on my laptop when I got it a couple years ago worked just fine and then I went to Windows Essentials to update. I have installed and uninstalled Movie Maker three times. Has anyone found a solution that will correct this problem? It is very frustrating.
Hi All,
My C: has 23GB free, but by D: has a lot more. Is there a way to ensure that Windows Movie Maker uses the D: drive for recording? I will need at least an hour of video record time.
ETA: This is for the Webcam Video feature - to make live videos with Movie Maker.
Thanks

Hi,
Whenever I try to use Windows Movie maker - even if I don't load any files - my computer immediately stops playing any sound at all and I have to reboot it to get it to work. Does anyone know why this is happening? I have Windows 8.1, latest graphics drivers and a P-87A motherboard.
Thankyou!
Whenever I import a video into Movie Maker, the audio plays but the preview screen is black. I have tried updating my video card drivers, and they're all up to date. I installed the latest version of Movie Maker which is the 2012 version. Looking at some previous discussions- http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/moviemaker-program/movie-maker-2012-black-screen-on-playback/b653d015-e0d4-4426-bd50-471b71abdad4 , I tried installing the 2011 version but it's still the same. I have been facing this problem for quite some time. Anyone can help me?

Movie maker no longer working- Reporting WLXPhotoBase.dll missing. Repeated attempts to repair and to reinstall Windows Essentials not working.
Hello,
I'm not tech-savy and I need to make my own video using Windows Movie Maker. I'm using Windows 8.1 and Windows Movie Maker Version 2012. I imported jpeg and mp3 files, but I can't hear the audio when I click on the play button. I can hear audio from youtube, so my speakers are working properly. I double-clicked on the audio file, which took me to the Options part of Music Tools; I tried clicking on Music Volume and dragging the slider to the right, but this didn't help.
What do I do to hear sound in Windows Movie Maker?
Thanks.
