I'm using Windows Vista and Windows Live Mail.  I want to create a group email address.  The Help section tells me to click to open Windows Conatact and then to click New Contact Group[ on the toolbar.  But New Contact Group does not appear on my toolbar! Help!

I'm using Windows Vista with Windows Live Mail for desktop, Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).

I noticed yesterday that all the storage folders (I had about 10 or 15) I created have disappeared.  When I delved deeper I saw that they have all been moved into folders buried under the "Recovered Items" folder.   Two folders appeared to have been created on 20th May this year (the folders have the date as the name) and all my missing folders are under here (with a few levels of hierarchy in between)

Why has this happened and how do I recover all the lost folders and emails?

I know I could re-create the folders manually and manually copy all the messages across, but this will take a while and should NOT be necessary.

Is there a quick (or slightly quicker) fix?

I read somewhere that I should compact the messages (go to Options/Mail/Advanced/Maintenance/ Compact messages after every 1 (not the default of 100) runs.   I did that but it made no difference.

Can someone help please?  Thanks.

I would like to know if it is possible to have group video calls using windows live messenger. The operating sytems concerned are Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. All parties concerned have the latest version of Windows Live Messenger.

Please can you tell us if this is currently possible. If it is not possible at the moment why is this the case and do you have any plans to make it possible in the future.

Thanks,

Yours sincerely

It worked once, and two days later, which was about a week ago. It stopped working again, and I repeated this process to see If I could fix it again. But it failed to work a second time. I really need help with this... Thanks.

I am running windows vista, and I keep getting a message (about every 10 minutes) that pops up and tells me I need to update Messnger. Windows updates tells me that no new updates are available, but the message keeps appearing. I am concerned that this could be a virus. How do I get rid of it?
Hi All,

I am facing an issue related to running WLM on my windows vista, each time I run the App it gives me an error message stating that :
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

What I did that I collected the SxSTrace and from it I observed the below error is occurring each time:
ERROR: Two assemblies have the same assembly name with different version. Assembly 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4148_none_5090ab56bcba71c2.manifest. Assembly 2: Ȗ.
ERROR: Activation Context generation failed.
End Activation Context Generation.

Is there any idea about this conflict and what is its solution?

Regards,
Thanks in advance
I upgraded from windows vista to windows 7. How can I convert my windows vista mail folders and emails to windows 7 live mail?

Hi Everyone,

When Windows messenger (Live) was having errors I deleted it the file before I removed it from control panel (uninstall).

Now the problem is when I open the control panel it Windows Live Essential does not exist and when i run the Windows Live Essential Installer

It says "Done you have the latest version". I've tried to find messenger in my search box however nothing shows up.

Ps I've already ran a registry cleaner but I still cant get it to install or find it in control panel to uninstall....

I am running Windows Vista 32 bit version

I was wondering does anyone know how I can install the latest version of Windows Live Essential so i can use messenger again?

Thanks in advance
