I too am having the exact same problem described here.  Nothing to add.  I just wanted to sign up so that I will be notified when/if someone comes up with a fix.

When I log into my email in less than 10 seconds I am diverted to yahoo search stating the install converter our toolbar notfound.

Could anyone please give me advice why this is happening

I have been using Windows Live Mail with my Yahoo mail account via POP for quite some time now with no problems.  In the last 3-4 days I can't get any new email messages to download.  I have tried updating the settings, have verified settings are correct, removed the email set-up and then recreated (and lost some older email messages in the process and then had it download all of the messages from the Yahoo server).  Once it is done with the initial download though I keep getting the message below.  I would really like to resolve this.

When you click the Send/Receive button in WLM it pops up the Windows Live Mail connection box and it seems like it is working until it get halfway on the green status bar and then stops responding.  It then errors out with the following message.

Unable to send or receive messages for the Yahoo (XXXXXXX) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes

I'm working on the Yahoo calendar sync with my 920.  I subscribed to the Yahoo CalDav server, but only one event title transferred over.  I would like to test a couple of things out, but I can't figure out how to have the Outlook.com calendar unsubscribe from the Yahoo calendar.
Hello,

I tried to add a "Send-Receive" account via this page:

https://col0-sec.mail.live.com/mail/AggregationSetupBasic.aspx?SEP=Options&n=1965896657

I entered my Yahoo email address and password.  I got this message:

"Check your email address and password, but the problem may be that Yahoo! requires you to subscribe to Yahoo! Mail Plus. Learn more"

The "Learn More" link is broken.

Now what, Microsoft?  Is there really more to learn about this error?  Do you actually know what caused this error?  Is there a way to get email from a Yahoo account to be received/sent from an Outlook.com account?

If there's nothing to "learn more" about this error, you might want to post a statement that this feature will not work with Yahoo email accounts.  If you post the statement via a link, please make it a working link so that we can "learn more".

I haven't been on my Hotmail e-mail in months and had forgotten the password. I tried numerous times to get into my account and ended up having the account temporarily blocked.

I tried to have to recover my password through my backup account. The problem is, my backup account is a Yahoo e-mail address that hasn't been logged into for over 12 months. Yahoo now deletes accounts that have been inactive for that long.

I used the other option that asked for the Hotmail user's name, DOB, e-mail contacts, etc. I haven't received any help and it's been over three days now. I don't know what else to do, please help me. Thank you.

Hello,
I have been unable to setup my email because I keep getting WE COULD NOT SIGN IN TO YOUR SMTP SERVER message. I used to be able to get email on Outlook.com using the SMTP but I had to change passwords on my server and when I tried to change it on Outlook.com settings, I have been having issues ever since.

1. I have read and followed the steps in setting up send / receive messages on POP accounts and for information about Outlook.com POP server, from the article below:

Set up your Gmail, Yahoo! Plus, or Microsoft email accounts in Outlook.com

2. I have already gone through my server's tech support (Verio) to see if it's an issue on their side as well as if I had all the proper information, which I did.  There are no email server issues and I have all and am inputting all the proper info.

3. I used the exact same information on GMAIL as a test and it worked instantly. I did NOT receive any SMTP errors.

4. I have tried setting up both a SEND ONLY and a SEND AND RECEIVE accounts with no luck with either.

5. I have triple confirmed my username and password (again, it works fine in GMAIL).

PLEASE help. I love Outlook.com and don't want to be forced into using GMAIL.

Thanks!

I have Windows 7 as an operating system. I use Windows Live Mail for most of my Emails. I also use the same Email address on Yahoo mail. Many of the Emails sent to me are put into the Yahoo Spam Box and never get to my Windows Live Mail InBox. What can be done to correct this situation?

You might ask why two EMail systems. It is because I find Yahoo can receive and send some Emails which Windows Live Mail does not. This is usually Emails of 6 Megabytes or greater.

Thanks for any help.

<Moved from feedback>

I just started noticing this problem around September 27 or 28.

Emails sent from yahoo accounts are frequently getting deferred by 12 to 24 hours.  Typically, the message either comes through within a couple of minutes or else it's delayed for many hours.  I suspect that it depends on the IP address of the specific Yahoo server that's trying to send the message to Hotmail.

I'm sure there's some excuse for rejecting connections from Yahoo because they appear to be sending a lot of spam, but it's ridiculous when it means that legit messages from Yahoo are subjected to extended delays.

Is there any way to influence the people in charge of outlook.com to keep the yahoo IP addresses off of their delay list?
