When I signed up for the Microsoft Community yesterday, my Outlook Emails (all of them), my Outlook Calendar and Outlook Contact List were ENTIRELY erased.  I restored emails by going to gmail.  Is there any way to recover my Calendar and Contacts?t
yesterday, I received an email, asking me my name and password, and if i don't do it it my hotmail account will be deleted! Is it a message from Microsoft? I am not sure. But i don't want do loose info in my accaunt.
Got this message this morning when Windows requested to do updates -- clicked links for help, but they led nowhere -- too old? Got an error message yesterday too fleeting to quite catch, that said I had multiple errors; the day before that, Java asked permission (on startup) to install updates, then disappeared. Clearly, I kinow nothing about any of this, but am trying to start a home-based business on the internet, so I need my computer! Grateful for any help offered!
After about 5 minutes of use windows live messenger freezes. I can't even close the windows. I also noticed that in the task manager the memory for messenger spikes up. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it still has a problem. It was working fine yesterday, then today it just stopped. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Task Manager does 'not' say 'not responding' but the UI will only get to listing my contacts. Then it freezes.

Yesterday, I was setting myself as appear offline to 2 contacts, when I decided to appear offline to a whole group. After I set the group to 'appear offline' I left Windows Live Messenger alone.

Then this morning, I got a IM from someone (not in the group that was blocked). When I tried to open the window it was frozen, w/o me being able to read the IM.

I decided to 'end task' on Windows Live Messenger and re-open it.

It is always frozen after it lists my contacts.

I then tried messenger on a different computer. It behaves the same. I feel it has to do with the setting I made, 'appear offline' (to a whole group).

I am able to sign in to the web version, but I really would rather not.

The web version doesn't have the ability to set who you 'appear offline' to.

I was able to go into an old windows XP computer (With an older version of Windows Live Messenfer) and sign in,,,,, but that version doesn't have the appear offline option.

Please help.

Thanks

My Windows Live Mail has been working fine up until yesterday. Now I am getting this message when I try to send mail out:

The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was '*** Email address is removed for privacy ***'.

Server Error: 530
Server Response: 530 Authentication is required before sending [R0107005]
Server: 'SMTP-server.twcny.rr.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): No

My settings have not changed since I started using Windows Live Mail 2 years ago. I checked for updates, and can not figure this out. Can anyone help?

Thank you!!
I have had this program for a few years and have never had this problem before.  In fact, I was using the account yesterday.  The entire wording is "Unable to establish a secure connection to the server because the root certificate is not installed"  Any help would be appreciated as this is the account I use for my business
Thank you
I tried to send one E-mail message yesterday & it could not be sent. It was a small message with no pictures or attachments. I rebooted a couple of times & selected "Send/Receive" several times. The message would not leave the Outbox. Now I cannot even open my Windows mail because I only get an error message in a box saying that it is Sending 2 messages from me & the status is "executing". Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A few very important folders have disappeared from Hotmal, including my "Personal" file folder. Yesterday a couple of those were

in Windows Live Mail but today they are also gone.  Any suggestions on how to retrieve them ?

I've used Windows Live Mail (Version 2011 Build 15.4.3555.0308) successfully for several years, but yesterday I started getting a pop-up box "Sign In To Windows Live Mail" every time I open the WLM program.  If I click "cancel" in the pop-up, everything seems fine--I am signed in to Windows Live and receive and send emails and so does my wife in her subaccount.  I've had automatic login enabled from the beginning and it seems to still be working.  But if I enter my password in the pop-up, the password is rejected with this message: "The email address or password is incorrect.  Please try again"--maybe because I'm already logged in?  I've reset the password several times, no improvement.  How can I stop this redundant pop-up from popping up?
