Outlook 2011: How can I get rid of the day/date bars in the item list pane???

I work at a place with an Exchange Server and have been using Mozilla Thunderbird, which kept me from using all the Exchange features.
I just did major updates to my iMac, including Office 2012.
I used to think that Outlook was one of the most brain-dead apps in the world, but now I'm giving it a try to see if its useable.
I've actually managed to import all my Thunderbird email into Outlook and I'm customizing the interface so its comfortable to me.

But the one thing that keeps annoying me are the silly day/date bars in the item list.
You know, the ones that say Today, Yesterday, The Day Before Yesterday, and so on.
Is there any way at all to make them disappear?????
And, yes I know they're collapsable, but that just wastes more screen real estate with bars that have no content.
I want them gone.

manage groups – add a contact to an existing group

Under the new Hotmail system (apparently changed yesterday), I cannot add a contact to an existing group or otherwise manage groups.

 

The button for manage groups seems to allow only adding a new group or deleting an existing group.  I cannot find a way to edit an existing contact by adding or deleting contacts.

 

I know this question was supposedly answered, but the response was not helpful as it did not provide any useful info.

 

Many thanks to any of you smart folks out there who can figure this out.

Hi all, 
I'm looking for any assistance with this problem i'm having. Recently i purchased a Mac and am using Outlook and it has been working perfectly until yesterday when i received the following error message: 

nskntcmgw08p BigPond Outbound [OB105. Connection refused. 121.212.3.200 is listed on the Exploits Block List (XBL). Please visit http://www.spamhaus.org/xbl/ for more information.

As I have always used Windows and have always had an Internet Security software program on my computer I am at a loss as to what this issue is and I don't know anything about this 'spamhaus' website.

Can anyone please assist?  Any feedback would be very much appreciated :)

Just got my laptop on the weekend, and everything was functional, when I discovered today I could not open messenger. As of yesterday, it worked, and between then and now I neither updated or changed anything. I tried restarting, uninstalling then reinstalling, but had this error come up.

I suspect it might have to do with my antivirus, since the program is apparently competitive and forced me to remove Essentials antivirus software along with Spybot during install, but up until yesterday left messenger alone. It leaves me confused, since this is a completely new laptop.

I run Windows 7 and currently have all Updates installed. The Antivirus is Titanium. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'll provide any specs willingly.

Windows Live Mail Storage Folders missing – they’ve all moved into Recovered Items.

I'm using Windows Vista with Windows Live Mail for desktop, Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).

I noticed yesterday that all the storage folders (I had about 10 or 15) I created have disappeared.  When I delved deeper I saw that they have all been moved into folders buried under the "Recovered Items" folder.   Two folders appeared to have been created on 20th May this year (the folders have the date as the name) and all my missing folders are under here (with a few levels of hierarchy in between)

 

Why has this happened and how do I recover all the lost folders and emails?

I know I could re-create the folders manually and manually copy all the messages across, but this will take a while and should NOT be necessary. 

Is there a quick (or slightly quicker) fix?

 

I read somewhere that I should compact the messages (go to Options/Mail/Advanced/Maintenance/ Compact messages after every 1 (not the default of 100) runs.   I did that but it made no difference.

 

Can someone help please?  Thanks.

hotmail not working on windows phone since 8/1/12

Hotmail worked fine on my HTC Windows phone until yesterday, 8/1/12.  I am getting hotmail on my laptop, but after shutting phone off and on several times, still cannot get hotmail on the phone.  Message says 'No messages'.

Hotmail won’t let me send messages…says I’ve sent too many today.

I sent a message to a large number of my contacts yesterday.  When I attempted to send a different message to other contacts Hotmail sent me a message (in a yellow box) stating that I had sent "too many messages and that my message would be saved in draft folder". It is now the next day and when I retrieve the saved message and attempt to send it the message returns.  Why can't I send any emails from my account, and/or when will I be able to?

All of a sudden my Outlook 2011 for Mac quit displaying the content of incoming emails. What’s up with that?

I receive emails on my three different email accounts in Outlook 2011 for Mac but I cannot see the content. I can see the content on my iPhone on not on the Mac.  This just started happening yesterday. I have tried everything to no avail. Any ideas???

all accounts blocked, how to get help

My main hotmail account was blocked after it was hacked.  I went to use my 2nd account and this also is now blocked. I tried to report a dodgy email yesterday and it wouldn't let me send it and then my account was closed down.  I tried to access my 2nd account to receive the code but that also had been hacked.  I am now stranded with no accounts, any ideas as I can't contact anyone and I haven't a clue if this is a permenant or temporary block.  I have a new password in the system but as my account is blocked that pathway means that I can't unblock it myself. F
