I want to setup a non-profit I support with Outlook.com's custom domains, but, our website uses CDO's to send emails to people when they register for events. I didn't want to risk messing up the email systems, so I bought a domain and got it setup with
Outlook.com. My question is, what smtp server do I use? I turned on POP access to the account and when I went through the help on how to setup apps using POP it provided an SMTP address of:
smtp-mail.outlook.com
The ports, SSL, etc... are all setup correctly. But, when the webpage that is trying to send an email through this SMTP address runs, I get the error '80040211' which means there was a problem with the SMTP server.
Is there a way to use CDO to send emails from this website through our custom domain outlook.com?
