What happened to my hotmail account. Once I sign in, I can’t open anything;. I’ve tried using Firefox instead of Safari – same mess.

Hotmail used to work just fine.  Now with Outlook it' can be a mess.  Once I sign in, the new layout doesn't allow me to open anything.  
Click on any item and the result is zero.  What should I do? Both Safari and Firefox browsers give me the same result on my Mac.  PC notebook is no better.
