I have wasted 5-6 hours today trying to activate my daughters Windows 8 phone so that she can add new apps.
When I try to download an app on the phone it tells me that I must provide adult verification by logging in using an adult account, but all day when I get to the 'Verify that you are an adult' page, it reports the following error:
Verify that you're an adult
When you verify your age with a credit card, Microsoft charges the card a one-time fee of $0.50 (50 cents), and a portion of the fee is donated to charity.

This is ludicrous, I just want my daughter to be able to use her phone safely, and a giant such as Microsoft is unable to provide a service reliable enough to handle the age verification process.
I could just lie about my daughters age, create a new Live account and get her full phone access, but this is hardly the point!!
Can someone tell me what is going on or have I just thrown money down the drain buying a Windows 8 phone?
